Durham Pothole Repair: SVN Real Estate

The entrance to SVN Real Estate’s office had pretty significant asphalt damage so we headed over to take care of that for them. When you have potholes at the entrance of your commercial parking lot not only is it a danger for prospective and current customers, it creates a negative impression on your business. This type of asphalt repair is what we love working on and we’re always excited to help local businesses.

What caused the potholes in this parking lot?

The entrance to this Durham based real estate business is quite steep and while we were preparing to repair the potholes we watched a two vehicles towing trailers drag the tongue of their trailer on the ground. Not only does this damage the vehicles, but it creates grooves in the asphalt where water and debris can collect and cause degradation.

Our pothole repair approach

For this project, we didn’t want to close the entire entrance to the parking lot so we prioritized the entrance area with the worst damage. Our repair was an area roughly 5×20′, and we used our infrared repair truck to heat and recycle the pavement in place. This approach is perfect for a repair like this because the base layer of the asphalt is intact and doesn’t require excavation.

Not only is an infrared repair more environmentally friendly it’s faster and longer lasting than many other repair methods.
