Sealcoating a Private Road in Cary, NC

At Green Street Blacktop, we recently completed a sealcoating project on a private cul-de-sac in Cary, NC. This job involved two key asphalt maintenance tasks: sealcoating and crack filling. Sealcoating is essential to protect asphalt surfaces from damage caused by the sun, rain, and regular traffic. By maintaining your asphalt, you can avoid costly repairs in the future.

Cleaning the asphalt before crack filling.

First, we applied two coats of asphalt emulsion to the entire surface. This protective layer helps extend the life of the asphalt and gives it a smooth, fresh appearance. Sealcoating also makes the surface more resistant to weather damage, which is especially important for driveways and private roads.

Before sealcoating, we filled large cracks using hot melted liquid rubber. Crack filling is a crucial part of asphalt repair because it prevents water from getting under the surface and causing further damage. When cracks are filled properly, it can help stop potholes from forming.
